The imagery of Pakistani-born artist A\u00efcha Khorchid resembles a journey through her life, visua\u00adli\u00adzing her search for belonging, identity, and ultimately herself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Painted on large wooden panels, the works skill\u00adfully engage with the materia\u00adlity of their support and the varying opacity of the paint appli\u00adca\u00adtion. Through a powerful visual language, they explore experi\u00adences and impres\u00adsions from A\u00efcha Khorchid\u2019s post-migrant life in Normandy and Paris. Her almost life-size figures, presented frontally, meet the viewer\u2019s gaze and convey a strong emotional intensity. Surrounded by an often cool color palette, they suggest pain and loss. A\u00efcha Khorchid. The Sea Is Not Blue<\/em> is the artist\u2019s first insti\u00adtu\u00adtional solo exhibition.<\/p>\n\n\n\nSubse\u00adquently, the Kunst\u00adhalle Augsburg in the Glass Palace will present the exhibi\u00adtion What Remains \u2013 The World of A\u00efcha Khorchid<\/em> from May 13 to October 17, 2027. This presen\u00adta\u00adtion marks the awarding of the \u201cZeitsicht Art Award,\u201d with which the Art Collec\u00adtions and Museums of Augsburg honor A\u00efcha Khorchid\u2019s outstan\u00adding artistic work.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n
