These are places where technical, economic, and not least of all cultural activi\u00adties culminate and which speak in dense descrip\u00adtions of the sociology of the materials of the world. The photo\u00adgra\u00adphed construc\u00adtion sites may appear as though they have been found by chance, but they have actually been carefully selected during lengthy research tours through urban lands\u00adcapes. On the one hand, the photo\u00adgraphs are very concrete, but on the other hand they are often almost abstract, at times even minima\u00adlist: Grids, dots, mounting devices, iron lattices\u2014everything spreads out strictly over the picture surface and gives it rhythm. The photo\u00adgraphs are focused \u201cconstruc\u00adtion-scapes\u201d which, in the much-cited age of the Anthropo\u00adcene, pay testimony to human activi\u00adties in a highly condensed manner. In addition to a fasci\u00adna\u00adtion with the \u201ccrime scene\u201d of the construc\u00adtion site, however, the locations depicted are basically also a pretext for Hensel to be able to work painterly in and with his photographs\u2014as demons\u00adtrated by the often-extensive color fields of the most diverse building materials. Ulrich Hensel\u2019s works represent a unique position in the photo art&nbsp;scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the exhibi\u00adtion&nbsp;<em>Ulrich Hensel. In-Between Worlds<\/em>, the Kunst\u00admu\u00adseum Wolfsburg presents a first museum overview of this special photo\u00adgra\u00adphic work.
