Featuring 105 works, the Kunst\u00admu\u00adseum Wolfsburg\u2019s survey exhibi\u00adtion presents text-image combi\u00adna\u00adtions (Marcel Dzama, Nedko Solakov, Raymond Pettibon), animation sequences (William Kentridge, Katie Armstrong), cut-outs and gravures (Mario BieRende, Pia Linz, Awst &amp; Walter), adapt\u00adations of musical struc\u00adtures (Jorinde Voigt, Angela Bulloch, Gregor Hilde\u00adbrandt) in addition to space-filling light instal\u00adla\u00adtions (Mariana Vassileva, Carsten Nicolai). Ten of the 37 parti\u00adci\u00adpa\u00adting artists produced new pieces especially for this exhibition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Drawing is often referred to as \u201cthinking with the pen.\u201d Drawing has been outgro\u00adwing its tradi\u00adtional materials and techni\u00adques since the mid-1960s at the latest. Concep\u00adtual approa\u00adches as well as non-material proce\u00addures have opened the doors of \u2018drawing\u2019 even wider. The use of modern techno\u00adlo\u00adgies has moreover enabled drawing to not only conquer new surfaces but also spaces, and even penetrate the dimension of time. Over the past ten years, in parti\u00adcular, numerous young artists from across the world have redis\u00adco\u00advered drawing.
