He reveals social modes of action and political discourses, which, through his works, are simul\u00adta\u00adne\u00adously subjected to revision. To this end, he collated, for example, the office lighting of a high-rise building at night to form light patterns that question everyday energy consump\u00adtion in the nocturnal skyline, or let a paper-thin rescue blanket be blown by the wind through streets or lands\u00adcapes, the lightness and fragility of which is reminis\u00adcent of the insta\u00adbi\u00adlity and finiteness of human life. The exhibi\u00adtion <em>Referenz\u00adR\u00e4ume<\/em> (transl. r<em>eference spaces<\/em>) has a retro\u00adspec\u00adtive character and presents for the first time a cross-section of Kuball\u2019s work of the last three decades, including large-scale instal\u00adla\u00adtions, photo\u00adgraphs, video projec\u00adtions, documen\u00adta\u00adtions, etc. from the work complex <em>public prepo\u00adsi\u00adtion<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more Weiterlesen-->\n\n\n\n<p>Kuball sees himself as a concep\u00adtual artist working in various media and spaces. The exhibi\u00adtion presents his funda\u00admental ideas with a selection of succinct works. A series of large and fasci\u00adna\u00adting instal\u00adla\u00adtions thus combine the use of light with a reflec\u00adtion on social, political, and scien\u00adtific issues. Works created especially for Wolfsburg or placed in a new context enhance the exhibi\u00adtion with current socio-political references. The archi\u00adtec\u00adture and the immediate surroun\u00addings of the museum buildings will also be incor\u00adpo\u00adrated into the exhibition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The exhibi\u00adtion and publi\u00adca\u00adtion project <em>Mischa Kuball.&nbsp;Referenz\u00adR\u00e4ume<\/em> initiated by the Kunst\u00admu\u00adseum Wolfsburg, is being prepared in close colla\u00adbo\u00adra\u00adtion with the artist and realized in coope\u00adra\u00adtion with the Museum Morsbroich in Lever\u00adkusen, where the exhibi\u00adtion will subse\u00adquently be on view from November 15, 2021 to March 6,&nbsp;2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The accom\u00adpanying German-English publi\u00adca\u00adtion (edited by Andreas Beitin, Holger Broeker, and Fritz Emslander) will be the first compre\u00adhen\u00adsive compen\u00addium of Mischa Kuball\u2019s work since 2007. An image section designed by the artist opens up connec\u00adtions between the works and gives the publi\u00adca\u00adtion the character of an artist\u2019s book.
